1946 - 8vo., original pink stiff card wrappers with glassine and slipcase. Spine sunned otherwise a very good copy. First edition thus, limited to 1060 copies, this letter "C" of 10 "ad personam" lettered copies. The limitation calls for these copies to have three original signed plates but this only has two with no sign of a third being excised. Inscribed "A ma tres chere Fleur de Federico 26 August 50." Fleur Cowles toured Europe after WW2 researching printing techniques for her projected new magazine Flair. "With delight, in Paris, Rome and Milan I studied the techniques and presses, sought out handmade papers, talked with designers. I returned enriched by their experience and genuine helpfulness. I found a brought with me Prince Pallavicini, a gifted artist-designer escapee from Hungary whom I found in Milan, and for whom I arranged a stateless person's passport."
