New York: The Neale Publishing Company, 1917. First Edition. Hard Cover. 12mo, 235 pages; original publisher's orange cloth, printed in gilt. Mr. Abbott and his brother, Alvin, went West at the beginning of the gold rush. Abbott tried gold mining, cattle ranching, hotel ownership and railroading; ever the entreprenure, he ended up broke. The present title was written when Mr. Abbott was 88 years of age. A fine, bright copy, with just a hint of fading of spine; now quite scarce on the market.
