1640 Geneva Bible, Breeches Folio Bible. The Bible of the Pilgrims and Shakespeare; Very rare edition this is the "Earliest example of an English Bible which deliberately omits the Apocrypha." Herbert #545; A rare geneva folio. Bound in full fine reverse calf over heavy wood boards a beautiful fine binding, with stunning red page edges, one (of two) clasps,and very nice blind tooling as well as blind tooling to spine and red label; Holy Bible folio edition measuring 15" x 9" and is a massive 3.25" thick with both title pages present. A few rough edges to the start and some stains to the first pages, some scattered soiling and wear throughout, there is a stain to the lower margin in the first few books of the old testament and the last pages.
