J. Dodsley, London 1770 - 6 vols.: 335; 336; 351; 360, [1]; 336; 336 p. 18 cm. Title page vignettes and engravings at tops of first pages. Full leather. Red text block edges. Burgundy spine labels. Front board of vol. 1 detached. Some scuffs to boards. Corners bumped and spine ends a little chipped. Ink mark on title of vol. 1 affecting page opposite. Vol. 2 has hole in half title. Vol. 3 lacks front free endpaper. Vol. 4 is missing front free and half title. Vol. 5 has some chips and tears in first few pages. Vol. 6 has ink marks on front endpapers and small tears to first pages. An 18th century anthology first published in three volumes in 1748 and in six volumes in 1758. Generally known as Dodsley's Miscellany. Includes John Arbuthnot, Samuel Johnson, Benjamin Stillingfleet, Alexander Pope, Thomas Gray, etc. [Attributes: Hard Cover]
