A Scarlet Pansy
New York: William Faro, 1933 - New York: William Faro, 1933. Hardcover. Book Condition: Good. No Jacket. 1st Edition. A lost gay classic, extremely rare and in fine condition, now known to have been written by Robert McAlmon, Ernest Hemingway's first publisher and one of the guiding lights of 1920s literary Paris. Important, gorgeous, and almost unfindable in this 1933 original hardback edition. Boards are darkened though with surprisingly little wear except to spine edges, spine sunned with paper label split and darkened though perfectly legible. Endpaper hinge has been strengthened, pages lightly tanned. Otherwise, the book is clean and fresh, throughout, free from previous owner┬┐s names, dates or marking and with firm binding. A sound, clean and internally extremely well preserved copy of this very scarce book. [Attributes: First Edition; Hard Cover]
