New Sydenham Society 1867 - spine edges repaired, Child Psychiatry Adult psychiatric illnesses were noted in children by Jean √Čtienne Dominique Esquirol (1838), Wilhelm Griesinger (1845) and Henry Maudsley in 1867. Wilhelm Griesinger (1817-1878) pointed out the relationship of mental symptoms to dreams. Born in Stuttgart, he succeeded Moritz Heinrich Romberg (1795-1873) as professor of psychiatry and neurology at the University of Berlin. He produced a textbook of mental diseases before he was 30 years old. He founded the Society of Medical Psychology. The syndrome of pseudohypertrophic infantile muscular dystrophy is named after him.
