The Plays of Bernard Shaw
London - Constable and Company 1929 - A twelve volume set of The Plays of Bernard Shaw, missing the subsequently published thirteenthvolumeThe Apple Cart, but complete in this1929 edition. A reprint of the pocket edition of Shaw's plays, published by Constable and Company, the set contains all of Shaw's major theatrical works up until that point, uniformly bound in decorative calf, with facsimile signatures to each board and with intricate and attractive backstrip designs. A hugely influential Nobel Prize and Oscar winning playwright, Shaw's plays are notable for their themes of socialism, the idealogy of which the author adhered to stringently as a lifelong and early member of the Fabian Society. Contains a frontispiece plate and facsimile signature to Saint Joan.
