Enterprise: The Story of the Defense of the America's Cup in 1930.
NY. Charles Scribner's Sons. 1931. - First Edition with 1931 copyright, "A" and Scribner's Seal on the copyright page. Vanderbilt's first-hand account of the famous 1930 America's Cup defender and her victory over "Shamrock V." With numerous full-page photographs and several folding charts and maps. A superb, definitive analysis. Very good minus in woven navy blue cloth stamped brightly in gold on the front boards and spine. The gilt background and white sails of "Enterprise" are crisp and bright on the center of the front boards. Some light, fingerprint-like marks at the bottom of the front panel. With light rubbing and wear to the top and bottom of the spine ends and at the corners. Previous owner's name and address written in ink on the front endpaper and stamped on the front and rear pastedowns and rear endpaper. With a light foxing to the edges of a few plates and foxing to the tissue guard at the frontispiece. Overall, a handsome, collectible copy. First Edition with 1931 copyright, "A" and Scribner's Seal on the copyright page. [Attributes: First Edition; Hard Cover]
