(S. L. Tuxen). Pritzel 6536. Christensen II,63,6. Bibl. Dan. II, 190. As tudor in a noble family Fr. O. Müller spent the summers at Frederiksdal Castle, a little to the north of Copenhagen. His educational duties involved his introducing his pupil into the elements of the all-victorious naural science, with the result that his own interest was caught by the study of the living nature; from the year 1758 he began his researches, with the works of Linnaeus as his guide. Müller's second foreign journey took him through Germany, Switzerland, Italy, France and Holland, was of much greater importance to his scientific development. While in Strassburg in 1766 he published his first large botanical work "Flora Fridrichsdalina".
