; publiée pour la premiere fois en 1822 par J. Goujon ; revue et augmentée par l'editeur d'après de nouveaux matériaux. A Paris : chez J. Goujon et J. Andriveau, Geographes éditeurs, Rue du Bac No. 17 pres le Pont Royal, 1838. Copper engraved map with original hand colouring, dissected into 18 pieces and laid on linen, 620 x 920 mm, folding to 210 x 155 mm, in remarkably fresh condition, manuscript label verso of first panel, housed in its original slipcase of marbled card with manuscript title labels to front and side (rubbed, and with some minor paper loss and short splits to sides). The map shows Oceaniadivided into four groups (Malay archipelago, Melanesia and Australia, Polynesia and Micronesia), according to d'Urville; inset map of New South Wales; relief shown by hachures. This attractive 1838 portable edition of Brué's map appears unrecorded in Australian collections.
