Letter from Composer Anton Rubinstein]
Berlin. January 6, 1880 - Manuscript, a letter by Russian Jewish composer Anton Rubinstein. The manuscript is in German. Its translation is as follows: "Berlin, January 6, 1880 Dear Madam: I read the opera libretto "Marino Taliero" by V. Holstein during my last stay in Leipzig, and I have given it to Bartholt Senff (the music publisher) to return, since other activities prevented me from doing so myself. I am surprised to learn that you have not received same as yet. Would you like me to write him to this effect or would you like to pick it up from him yourself - in any event, it is there at your disposal. Respectfully very truly yours, Ant. Rubinstein " It has been removed from the frame but can send you the frame as well. The paper has the water mark "ALEXR PYRIE & SONS" which was a leading paper manufacturer. See ┬┐Alexander Pirie & Sons of Aberdeen and the Expansion of the British Paper Industry, c.1860 -1914" In acid free Mylar envelope. [Attributes: Hard Cover]
