Single vellum leaf, measuring 4-1/2 by 7 inches, scribed in black and red inks, illuminated in red and blue inks. Floated with red satin matt and window framed, entire piece measures 15-1/2 by 12-1/2 inches. $2000.Lovely illuminated leaf from an early 13th-century French Bible, scribed in Latin and taken its lexicon (letters "F" and "G"), with one two-line initial in red and blue scrollwork.This leaf from a French bible, circa 1220, with text from its lexicon, letters "F" and "G". It is scribed in three columns of Latin, each containing 59 lines of text in black ink with red Fs and Gs. There is a red two-line initial with blue outline and scrollwork. The verso is similar. Very nearly fine condition.
