Laws of the Territory of Oregon, Enacted During the Tenth Regular Session of the Legislative Assembly, Begun December 6, 1858; Concluded January 22, 1859.
Asahel Bush. Salem, Oregon. 1859. - 47+118+7pp, index, 8 1/2 x 6 inches, paper wrappers (softbound). Covers lightly soiled with short edge tears and small areas of paper loss to edges, loss to upper fore-edge corner of back cover and a little chipping to the upper edge of the last page of the booklet, ink notation on back cover, impressions from circular seals (?) on back cover and last dozen or so pages, faint scattered foxing throughout, otherwise a clean intact volume. A very scarce territorial booklet with laws relating to Territorial Roads, Acts of Incorporation (Oregon City, Cascade Mountain Wagon Road Company, etc.), Convicts and Penitentiary, Bridges, "Tax on Chinamen Mining in Oregon", Divorces, and other matters. This document, listed on OCLC as held only by the University of Michigan Law Library, is an important recording of Oregon Law prior to statehood. The ink notation on the back cover reads: "Filed, May 20th, 1859 R.B. Morford Auditor, A.B. McIlwain J.P." [Attributes: Soft Cover]
