London; James Reynolds, 1855. - [1855]. Map of Europe, 46 x 37 inches approx, drawn by E Ravenstein with borders hand-coloured in outline; dissected and mounted onto linen & attached to binder. Condition: Very Good. Quarter maroon cloth, recased using original publisher's decorative paper-covered boards, with map of Electric Telegraph Lines to front pastedown. Boards scuffed & stained with wear to edges. Foxing, heaviest to verso, and a little fingermarking to map; minor creasing to edge. James Reynolds (1817-76) was a prolific producer of a wide variety of maps and charts in a career spanning over 30 years, which also included printing of music and astronomical & scientific material. Scarce- Copac locates one copy only within the UK, held at the British Library. [Attributes: Hard Cover]
