Dublin: Bryan Geraghty, 1846, 1846. First English translation. Spine slightly faded;upper joints just starting, but firm; fine, handsome copy.. Large quarto, later green half morocco, marbled paper boards and matching endpapers, gilt lettering. Chromolithographed frontis and large folding map. One of the primary sources of medieval Irish history, also known as the Annals of the Four Masters. They cover the years of Henry II (1171) through through James I (1616). Owen Connellan (1797-1871) was an Irish antiquary, scholar and translator.
