Cranch. 12 volumes, octavo (266 x 184 mm). Finely bound by the Riverside Press in dark blue morocco, titles and elaborate decoration to spines gilt separated by raised bands, panelled boards gilt, triple rule gilt to turn-ins, marbled endpapers, top edges gilt, others untrimmed. With numerous illustrations on japon vellum; frontispieces in two states. The occasional minor blemish, offsetting to endpapers, excellent condition. Large paper editions, limited to 650 copies each of which this is number 73. Dante is in six volumes; Goethe in four and Virgil in two. A particularly handsome set.
