Originally published in five parts between the years 1864-1883 this example contains all five parts in one handsomely bound volume, a classic and BEAUTIFULLY ILLUSTRATED Victorian work on British Trilobites by J W Salter, The Ordovician system had not been introduced when this work was published, though species from that period are included while still ascribed to the Cambrian and Silurian periods. the book is handsomely bound in a modern Quarter Leather Binding, titled in gilt to the spine, internally book runs to 224 pages with occasional figures within the text, with Thirty Full Page Plates along with accompanying text, CONDITION the binding is in excellent condition, internally the book is mildly ex-library with three faint stamps to the blank reverse of three of the plates, and one to top of first page of text, small neat professional repairs to top blank corners of pages to part two, some occasional foxing and browning, some offsetting to a few of the plates, the top outer edge of one part is a darker colour that the rest of the parts else in good general condition A HANDSOMELY BOUND EXAMPLE OF THIS CLASSIC AND PIONEERING WORK ON THE STUDY OF BRITISH TRILOBITES
