Doubleday, 1901 SIGNED FIRST EDITION of Booker T. Washington's Up From Slavery. Published in New York by Doubleday, Page & Co. in 1901. Autobiography. SIGNED by the author - "Booker T. Washington, Tuskegee, Alabama, June9, 1900"- on a card attached to the front paste-down (signed and dated before this book was published). Born as a slave, Washington founded the Tuskegee Institute, becoming its first president. Book in very good plus condition, inside hinges show slight cracking. Book comes in specially made cloth slipcase. We will provide a certificate of authenticity for this item.. Signed by Author(s). 1st Edition. Hardcover. Very Good.
