Kaplan, Y.A. Nazarenko, A.L. Slonimsky, V.N. Soloviev on the new interpretation of the famous Gogol's comedy The Government Inspector (i.e. Revizor). This staging caused a strong reaction among critics of the day, which usually was the case with the avant-garde theater of Meyerhold. This staging now is regarded classical also due to the performance of Mikhail Chekhov who played the leading role of Khlestakov. Emmanuil Iosifovich Kaplan (1895-1961), singer, director and teacher.
