University of Chicago Press, Chicago 1960 - First printing of the first edition. Original grey-brown cloth hard covers, with gilt titles to spine, in original dust jacket. Some slight shelf-wear to covers; edges mildly toned but a little more so to top. Otherwise clean, tight and (completely) unmarked -- internally very bright. Dust jacket is price-clipped and shows some rubbing and shallow edge-wear, as well as a 2" closed tear to top front near fold (now in removable archival mylar sleeve).
