Bologna, Constant. Pisarri, 1719. - 8vo.(8) + v + (17) + 66 + (8)pp. 3 engraved plates (1 folding). Original half calf over boards, gilt title on spine label. A descriptive catalogue of Graminiae, the plant family most economically useful to man, containing wheat, maize, barley and rye. In two sections (Graminifolia, 21 genera and Gramina, 11 sections) the author has noted down more than 300 species. Many are indigenous to the area around Bologna, some are raised in his own garden, others were collected on his travels. In each case a botanical description is given, the plant's medical properties, synonyms and observations of interest. Reference is made to earlier authorities of which there is a 9-page bibliographical list.
