Backstrip faintly rubbed, very light partial toning to rear panel, first gathering a little pulled but still holding firm. An exceptionally bright copy in excellent condition. Black and white portrait frontispiece of John L. Baird and 11 other plates. Illustrations include the first photograph ever taken by Television (facing p. 39). First edition, first impression, of the first book in English on television. This volume covers all aspects of early television and was written, as the author put it in the preface to the second edition, "in a popular, non-technical manner, with the object of interesting the man in the street".
