Bayer Photo-Papiere
Bayer & Co. Farbenfabriken n/d, Leverkusen - Oblong 4to. Unpaginated. Original string-bound brown decorated stiff wrappers. Company logo and title stamped in white on front board (Farbenfabriken vorm. Friedr. Bayer & Co. Leverkusen bei Coln a. Rhein). Leverkusen became the main production center of the I.G.'s Lower Rhine operating consortium. Despite Germany's wars, depressions and inflations, Bayer has always recovered by creating new products - from the world's first sulfa drugs and synthetic rubber to Europe's first color film, put out by it's Agfa subsidiary. Splendidlly illustrated with 14 tipped-in b/w photographs on heavy card stock depicting landscapes, home interiors, as well as portraits of women and children, this rare promotional work shows some of the company's achievements in relation to photography. Each photograph is printed in different styles such as glossy, matte, half-matte, chamois, matte-gloss, etc. Minor rubbing to corners and to head and tail of spine. Text in German. Wrappers in overall good to good+, interior and photographs in very good condition. [Attributes: First Edition; Soft Cover]
