Hamburg: The Odyssey Press, 1935 - Octavo. Original pale grey cloth, spine and front cover lettered in dark red, top edge grey. With the original glassine dust jacket. Top edge dust speckled. An excellent copy. Rare one-volume issue of the third impression of the Odyssey Press edition (normally issued in two volumes in wrappers), not noted by Slocum & Cahoon; the thin-paper issue is more common. First published in December 1932 the Odyssey Press editions are attractive books, notable for being revised by Stuart Gilbert at Joyce's request and at the time "generally considered to be the most accurate and authoritative text of Ulysses" (Slocum & Cahoon). Slocum & Cahoon A20 note.
