New York: Charles Scribner's Sons, 1953 - Octavo. Original blue cloth, titles to spine in silver, aeroplane device to front board in silver, pictorial endpapers. With the dust jacket. Spine faded, very light rubbing to extremities, sound and internally fresh, a very good copy in the dust jacket which is somewhat spotted to verso but presents nicely, with light toning to spine panel, small chips to ends and corners otherwise some light rubbing and ruffling to the extremities. 16 plates, double-page map to the text. First edition, first printing, one of a handful of important pre-publication presentation copies, inscribed on the title page, "To Sheldon and Edith Yates, with best wishes from Charles, August, 1953. Publication date is Sept. 14th". Edith [Morrow] Yates was Anne Morrow Lindbergh's maternal aunt. The Spirit of St. Louis is Lindbergh's most famous book, containing the account of his record-breaking solo non-stop flight across the Atlantic. [Attributes: First Edition; Signed Copy]
