Anker (p. 200) states "plates II, III, III*, IV, and V are examples of various applications of anastatic printing, using the process of papyrography invented by Strickland." See also Fine Bird Books (1990), p. 145 and Nissen IVB 900. No ownership marks and few signs of use. Some foxing to the fold-out plate of a panorama of Rodriguez Island, light foxing to some tissue guards and to the outer edges of a few plates, the fine publisher's binding is bright and clean with almost no wear; a tight copy in near fine condition.
