London: William Heinemann,, 1927. A comedy in three acts. Octavo. Original black cloth, yellow printed labels to spine and front cover. With the dust jacket. Portrait frontispiece. Some light foxing to edges of text block; an excellent copy in the slightly toned jacket with some creases to extremities and short closed tear to head of front panel. First UK edition, first impression. The play premiered the previous year on 1 November 1926, at the Ohio Theatre, Cleveland, with Ethel Barrymore as Constance Middleton, whose photograph is featured on the frontispiece. The play was first published in the US earlier the same year, and the UK edition consists of the US sheets with a cancel title page; 750 sheets from the US edition were shipped to London in Spetember 1927.
