London: Chapman & Hall, 1860. PRESENTATION COPY FOURTH EDITION. 1 vol., inscribed on title-page "Herbert Watkins from Anthony Trollope", with the hand tinted frontis fold out map. Bound in the publisher's original gilt stamped maroon cloth, gilt lettered spine, inner and outer hinges fine, head and foot of spine slightly rubbed, remnants of tape glue? to hinges even though both hinges are in good condition, overall a VERY GOOD copy.\r\nHerbert Watkins (b.1850) was a British photographer active in London in second part of 19th century. His London studio was located at 215 Regent Street. There exists a popular studio photo of Trollope take by Herbert. In a letter to Herbert dated April 13,1860 Trollpe writes "I think the portrait now as it stands will do very well. It looks un-common feirce (sic), as that of a dog about to bite; but that I fear is the nature of the animal portrayed".
