Unholy Crusade.
8vo., original cloth with price-clipped dust wrapper. Just a little rubbing to wrapper otherwise a near fine copy. Lymington Edition. This copy warmly inscribed by Wheatley to fellow author Ralph Hammond Innes, "For My distinguished rival Hammond Innes with best wishes from Dennis Wheatley." Also with a typed letter signed by Wheatley on Wheatley's Cadogan Square headed paper dated 2nd June 1972. In the letter Wheatley thanks Innes for sending four inscribed books and goes on to to reminisce about a review he had written, "It was with interest and great pleasure that I read my little notice on Wreckers Must Breathe on the inner back flap of the Trojan Horse, as I had entirely forgotten all about it, and it really gives me a special kick to think that I was capable of picking out as quite exceptional, a first novel by an author who has since won world-wide fame." Wheatley finishes the letter by inviting Innes to meet him at his club in London. At the top of the letter there is a manuscript note in another hand noting the date of an appointment at Wheatley's club.
