First published in 1653, Walton's COMPLEAT ANGLER, presented as a colloquy that takes place over several days (like the CANTERBURY TALES), is probably the most famous book in the world about recreational fishing. This edition, from the text of the fifth edition 1676, representing the final revisions by Walton, is augmented with extensive memoirs of Walton and Cotton. Large 8vo ( x ), two volumes: pp. [1-16] [i] ii-ccxii [1-4] [1] 2-129 [130]; [1-4] [131] 132-436 [1-32]. An attractive copy apart from the usual foxing. TEG.
