Paris: Jean-Jacques Pauvert, 1958. Hardcover. Very Good in chipped and torn plastic dust jacket; edgeworn; top and bottom of boards a bit dirty. 10 x 8.5 x 1.25 inches. Signed by Max Ernst on the half-title page with an inscription (Why not come to the land of birds?) and a small drawing of a bird. From the press of Blanchard of Paris; the photographer is Paul Facchetti; the layout and color printing were personally supervised by Max Ernst, who specially composed the drop caps of the chapter heads.
