H. Hoffman, Paris 1886 - Folio. Vol.I: xvi. 105pp. of text followed by 40pp. of plates. Vol.II: 80pp. of plates. Decorated gray boards. Four inches of midsection, and one inch on tail of spine of backstrip on vol.I missing. Some chipping to spine on vol.II. Minor scuffing and discoloration to boards. Corners bumped and worn. Julien Greau (1810-1895) was an omnivorous French collector of coins, bronzes and terracottas. This beautiful catalogue shows the Greek terracottas in his collection. The majority of sculptures depicted are of Lydian and Phrygian origin. Wonderfully illustrated with full page sepia-toned and b/w plates. Volume one has the text to both volumes plates. Text in French. Boards in fair condition, Missiong some plates in one Volume. Brooklyn Library Markings on Pages. Due to considerable weight of books, extra postage may be required.
