Littleton's Tenures, in French and English [in parallel columns]. Wing L2588. 12mo
The first edition to provide both the Law French text and its English translation, a work which Maitland called a "lucid and classical book on the tenure of land" and which Holdsworth denominated one of the five great books of English law. Contemporary unlettered sheep, rubbed, the margins cut close, sometimes affecting the running heads and the text (but never legibility); a crisp copy. Printed by John Streater, James Flesher [etc.], London, 1671.
