The Science Fiction Books. Consisting of: Kings of Space, Return to Mars, Now to the Stars, To Outer Space, The Edge of Beyond, The Death Rays of Ardilla, To Worlds Unknown, The Quest for the Perfect Planet, and Worlds of Wonder.
London: Hodder and Stoughton, 1954-1963. AN ATTRACTIVE SET OF FIRST EDITIONS, ILLUSTRATED BY STEAD. 10 volumes, octavo. Bound in publisher's cloth (red and blue variant) in illustrated dustjackets. 'Return to Mars', 'To Outer Space', and 'The Man Who Vanished Into Space' price-clipped, others unclipped. A generally clean, tight, and attractive set, dustwrappers show slight creasing to the head and tail of the spines, with a small area of loss to the rear panel of 'The Death Rays of Ardilla'. Cloth shows very well. A much-loved science fiction collection, in excellent condition.
