WAIN, LOUIS. (WAIN,LOUIS)illus. THE ZOOLAND POSTCARD PAINTING BOOK. (London: Valentine & Sons), no date, circa 1910. Oblong 7 1/4/x 5 1/4", pictorial card covers, chip off upper corner, spine rubbed, light general wear, the paints that originally came are no longer there but the postcards are all unused, a VG+ copy. There is a great full color cover by Wain. Inside there are 10 postcards (2 copies of each image) which have illustrations in brown line meant to be painted by the child. The cards feature different humanized animal families: The Jolly Jumbos, Mr. Lion Tells a Story, The Monkey's Dinner Time, The Tale of a Tiger and Who Wants Butter (bears). On the back cover Wain has illustrated each image in full color to be used as a guide for the child. Rare.
