Plan von der zwischen einem Kayserl. Königlichen Corps unter dem Fürsten von Loewenstein, und einem Königl. Preussischen unter dem General von Seydlitz bey Toeplitz in Boehmen am 20. August 1762 vorgefallene Action.
1762 - Nuremberg, Raspe, c.1762. Original colour. 225 x 375mm. Stitch holes in left margin. A scarce map of the Battle of Toplitz, Bohemia, on 2nd August 1762 (not the 20th) during the Seven Years' War, published in Raspe's 'Schau Platz des gegenwaertigen Kriegs' (Plates illustrating the Current Wars). The Prussians under Friedrich Wilhelm von Seydlitz (1721-73, regarded as one of the greatest German cavalry commanders) moved into Bohemia, and were met by the Austrians under Brigadier Löwenstein, who were in good defensive positons around Toplitz (Teplice). The Prussians attacked at 4pm, but Seyditz had neither sufficient troops or ammunition to dislodge the Austrians and by 8am the Prussians withdrew.
