Für Frohe Kinderherzen (Happy Hearts for Children).
Leipzig Verlag von Wilhelm Effenberger (F. Loewe's Verlag). Stuttgart, Germany. No date. Ca. 1895. - Children's book; 19 x 9 inches; 34 (unnumbered) pages; illustrated with beautifully reproduced illustrations after Elise Voigt. What is especially unusual about the book is that it retains its original paper wraps which, while torn and somewhat discolored, have preserved the delightful chromolithographic cover illustration. The volume is illustrated with chromolithographic illustrations throughout. Very modest bowing to front cover; otherwise virtually new condition, apart from torn dust jacket. There is no date of publication in the book; however, an inscription in ink on the front free endpaper is dated 1895. On verso of front cover is small emblem identifying the book as being sold by C. A. Rohde Company of Milwaukee, Wisconsin. (Rohde also published, in 1896, a color fold-out view book of Milwaukee that was printed by Louis Glasep, Leipzig, Germany.) Für Frohe Kinderherzen is an uncommon German language children's book featuring beautifully printed chromolithographic illustrations. [Attributes: Hard Cover]
