Correspondance
1693) 1858 - A set of Lalanne's work, in French. Complete in six volumes. New edition review of manuscripts; with previously unpublished letters. With a preface, notes and tables. Roger de Rabutin, Comte de Bussy (13 April 1618 9 April 1693), commonly known as Bussy-Rabutin, was a French memoirist. He was the cousin and frequent correspondent of Madame de Sevigne. Born at Epiry, near Autun, he represented a family of distinction in Burgundy, and his father, Leonor de Rabutin, was lieutenant general of the province of Nivernais. Condition: In quarter morocco bindings with marbles paper covered boards, and gilt title detailing to the spines. Externally, all volumes are generally smart with just some shelfwear only; with light rubbing in places, slight bumping to the extremities, and a little loss to the extremities; with a few marks to boards. Internally, all are firmly bound, although Volume VI is strained. The pages are generally bright and clean, with scattered spotting and occasional handling marks, and creases to the margins of some pages, not affecting the text. There is a personal ink copperplate inscription to the front endpapers in each volume. Overall: VERY GOOD INDEED. [Attributes: Hard Cover]
