Boston: Little Brown and Company, 1958., 1958. FIRST US EDITION, belonging to the Forester Family Archive. Octavo, pp. 329. Near-fine in publisher's blue-green cloth, in a pictorial dustjacket depicting stormy scene at sea, designed by Dwight Shepler. Minor edgewear and scuffing to boards. Dustjacket in like, with a little creasing and wear to extremities. Textblock bright and clean throughout. Book is inscribed by Forester to his wife, Dorothy, on the front flyleaf; pastedown bears the bookplate of the Forester and Troughton-Smith Family Archive. Item is housed in a handsome, tailor-made clamshell box, with dark blue cloth to sides and navy morocco at spine. Wonderfully preserved.
