FIRST EDITION 1900, Second Series No. IV, ex library copy, 8vo, approximately 220 x 140 mm, 8¾ x 5¾ inches, large folding coloured map in pocket inside rear cover, pages: lvi, 1 - 304 including index, plus 20 page Hakluyt Society catalogue of publications, bound in the original publisher's blind decorated blue cloth, gilt ship vignette to upper cover, gilt lettering to spine, pale yellow endpapers. Spine slightly unevenly darkened, small area discoloured by removal of library label above tail of spine, covers lightly soiled, top edges dusty, bookplate untidily removed from front pastedown, reverse of endpaper and half - title lightly foxed, small pale ink library stamp on verso half - title and title page, a blank corner of the map and 1 text page have a small blind library stamp, not near printed area, occasional slight pale foxing.
