All Edges in heavy, untarnished, gleaming gilt. Corners just touched, precious little else. 120 pp. + 8 pp.A gleaming Near Fine decorative binding from 1890. Contents fine. A precious and beautiful little book of the period genre of "In Memoriam" souvenir books which commemorated the passing of a number of female authors of the era. A tribute to the blind woman writer Alla Hubbard Spencer; includes a selection of her poetry and essays, as well as a posthumous tribute poem by her husband, Dr. B.F. Spencer, and an introduction and biographical sketch by J.R. Darnall. In absolutely superb condition, this piece is also extreme scarce; as with all In Memoriam tributes, it was published in very small numbers.
