One of the earlier works of Benjamin Martin (1705-1782), prolific author and maker of scientific instruments, written while he was still at Chichester and before his move to Reading in 1742.8vo, pp. xii, 246, (2) adverts, *62, (2), large folding engraved plate (bound as a frontispiece). Separate title-page to the third part dated 1739. Contemporary unlettered calf, sides and spine compartments with double gilt fillet. Tear in the plate professionally repaired. A nice copy.
