C. Arthur Pearson Ltd, London 1897 - Exceptionally clean and bright red cloth boards with clear black illustration of the invisible man and bright gilt lettering on the front cover. Binding a little cocked with front and rear inside hinges starting to crack but holding well. Spine slighlty faded with bumped edges of the spine. Cream endpapers are lightly browned with a pen owner signature on the free paper. A tiny tear on page 2 but otherwise all contents clean and tight, slightly browned due to age. A pencil mark is on the rear free endpaper, (‘M/-). Two pages of adverts at the end of the book. 245 printed pages. 8vo. This classic novel of the Invisible Man relates the misuse of science for selfish ends telling the famous story of a scientist who tampers with nature in his pursuit of superhuman powers.
