Industriedächer: Flache Dächer
Verband Deutscher Dachpappenfabrikanten e. V. (Edler & Krische) (1927?), Berlin (Hannover) - Illustrated with 9 photographic reproductions. First edition. (4) p. An advertisement brochure of Verband Deutscher Dachpappenfabrikanten e. V. (VDD) from the time of Walter Gropius' 1927-28 project "Das flach Dach" the "Flat Roof", when a series of articles were published in the magazine "Das neue Frankfurt" supporting the idea of flat roofed buildings. VDD was the leading factory producing "dachpappe", the roofing felt that was used throughout Germany and Europe for waterproofing such buildings. This publication is a rare and interesting example of the cooperation between the Bauhaus and the company, with modernist layout, resembling to the typography of the Bauhaus Bücher designed by László Moholy-Nagy. It contains nine photographs of industrial buildings that used the VDD roofing felt, each credited with the name of the building, the architect and the photographer, among them the Bauhaus building in Dessau, designed by Gropius, and the photographer is Moholy-Nagy.
