First French edition, following the German from 1833. Rose (1798-1873) later worked with Berzelius in Stockholm and then became professor and director of the museum of mineralogy in Berlin. The present work on cristallography "represented the latest advances of the science at the time" (D.S.B XI, 539). - Nice copy, just minor light staining to outer margins at the beginning, otherwise clean.
