From the collection of noted scientific collector and author Melvin Edward Jahn;Jahn was best known for his revisions of Henry Raup Wagner's Bibliography of the Plains and the Rockies (1937 & 1953). Uniform brown embossed cloth with gilt spine titles and front cover decorations. There is some rubbing and fraying to the spine ends and corners of the book covers. The text pages are clean and bright. Each volume is illustrated with black and white and hand-colored illustrations. Not regularly seen in the complete 8 volumes. "Sir John Richardson (5 November 1787 – 5 June 1865) was a Scottish naval surgeon, naturalist and arctic explorer.
