Esser Inlay (Epithelial Inlay)
Holland: E.J. Brill Leiden, 1940. 1st. Cloth. Good. 1940 1st edition of this uncommon and early study of "epitheliel" (or "esser") inlay, a new development at the time in plastic surgery and dermatology. With roughly 1,500 graphic photographs of patients in various stages of pre and post-surgery, this is an exhaustive study of the traumas brought on by skin disease and structural abnormalities and malformations. A G+/VG- copy. Internally clean and still very tightly-bound but missing its spine strip and showing substantial wear along the spine creases. The book is mildly bowed as well and has a degree of rubbing and soiling to the front panel. Small former owner signature to front pastedown. Folio, 322 pgs. plus bibliography. A solid working or reference copy. Heavily used over the years but still strong and sturdy and very scarce.
