Printed by George Purslowe, dwelling at the east end of Christs Church, London. 1618 - With a briefe relation of all the memorable monuments, and other especiall obseruations, both in and about the same Citie. Written in the yeere 1598. by Iohn Stow, citizen of London. Since then, continued, corrected and much enlarged, with many rare and worthy notes, both of venerable antiquity, and later memorie, such, as were neuer published before this present yeere 1618. [Stow, John 1525?-1605.] Sm. 4to. [19 x 15 cm.] complete [12], 20, [4], 21-980, [4] p. [light soiling / staining, ] woodcut on title, woodcut initials. [little shaving top margin] Early calf, joint repaired. Stow's topographical survey of the city and its suburbs drew on a wide range of classical and medieval historical literature and public records, in addition to the author's own knowledge of the city where he spent his life.
