First edition. A psychological thriller about Patric, a young boy who is taken from his foster home to live with his stern cousin in Thragoness, a gothic residence divided by the titular forbidden doors, through which Patric enters an incomprehensible world of hate and nightmare. The author's first novel, published later in the U.S. as TENTHRAGON in 1930 by A. H. King. Bleiler (1948), p. 245. A fine copy in very good pictorial dust jacket with light wear and shallow chipping at edges. A very scarce book, especially in jacket. The Teitler-Spradling copy.
