The fine plates, although unsigned, are undoubtedly his work, and the text is pleasingly written with considerable historical and antiquarian detail. Duppa (bap. 1768, d. 1831) was a writer and draughtsman, who wrote several literary and botanical works.The unpaginated section in the third volumes comprises a dictionary of botanical terms and index.
